Verification & enrichment
Reddit blocks unauthenticated access, so both reading posts and checking comments go through a provider. Apify batches many comments into one call, which is why it is the default.
Comment writing
Each business has its own product and its own voice, so each one carries its own context. A task inherits the context of the business it belongs to.
Fetching the thread is what lets Claude answer the conversation instead of just the post — but the tail of a thread rarely adds anything. Measured cost per thread: $0.033 at 30 comments, $0.018 at 15, $0.013 at 10, $0.003 at zero. Almost all of it is the comments; the post itself costs $0.003.
